Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) was established in 1972 in a grassroots effort by community members seeking alternatives to prison for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD). SCADP is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization providing residential and outpatient treatment services to individuals throughout Los Angeles. Offering services with a continuum of care to underserved and disadvantaged populations.
Residential Program – Increased Access, La Casita
Residential Treatment for substance-use disorder, the program ranges from 30 to 120 days depending on medical necessity and the need of a controlled environment to establish a foundation for recovery. Our program provides an evidence-based trauma-informed care model of utilizing cognitive behavior therapy and motivational interviewing. Program emphasis includes instruction on developing coping and life skills allowing each individual to maintain a healthy, productive lifestyle and overcome the stress and barriers to successful daily living. We provide wrap-around services including assessments, individual and group therapy and counseling, treatment planning, case management and referrals. All potential patients must have or qualify for Medi-Cal or My Health LA coverage within Los Angeles County.
Clients are assessed using the full American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment and receive the following services: Education and counseling groups, individual counseling sessions with Substance Abuse Specialist and/or a therapist, case management, transportation, and random drug screening. Services will be provided, free of cost, to Medi-Cal and My Health LA qualified individuals who meet medical necessity. Assistance with enrolling in Medi-Cal or My Health LA programs is available.
JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The ASL Counselor AOD I – MC, is a Registered AOD Counselor, under supervision of a Certified AOD Counselor or Licensed Therapist, is responsible for the provision of alcohol and drug treatment services to clients and their families, engaging in treatment plan process with therapist and case manager and ongoing clinical documentation to support the whole person care of the client. The Counselor will have completed the formal coursework required for Certification by a BBS approved Certifying Organization, and be achieving the supervised hours required for Certification. Meets annual registration renewal requirements and submits annual renewal of Registration until Certification is earned.
Utilizing American Sign Language to deliver and provide all services while collaborating with non-hearing impaired staff on site, the ASL Counselor AOD I shall:
